Staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to any emergencies, and an emergency alert system is also in place. State Classification Brookdale Eden Estates is a Type A assisted living facility . In the state of Texas, these terms are defined as follows: Assisted Living Facility A facility that provides personal care services and administration of medication to 4 or more residents. Assisted living facilities can accept residents with dementia and/or Alzheimer’s. There are 3 types of assisted living facilities: Type A: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who are physically and mentally capable of evacuating the facility unassisted. Type B: A facility that may provide room and board to residents who need assistance evacuating, are incapable of following directions under emergency conditions, require staff attendance during nighttime sleeping hours, and require assistance transferring to and from a wheelchair. Type C (Adult Foster Care): Four-bed facilities that meet the minimum standards and rules for enrollment in the Department of Aging and Disability Services’ Adult Foster Care home program. PositiveI have seen the schedule of events which are great. Mom really likes the food. Everything looks very clean and well decorated. Mom is struggling because her hearing is so bad, even with her hearing aids, and the high ceilings and open spaces are just beautiful but the voices just dissipate so she is not being able to participate in conversations. That's what is really getting her down. But everyone is so kind and tries so hard to include her. I don't of anything else that could be done that isn't already being done…
