Columbus Estates provides a fulfilling, independent lifestyle in a welcoming environment. Beautifully landscaped and with a neighborly atmosphere, Columbus Estates is nestled among the rolling hills of the San Joaquin Valley . We're just outside of Bakersfield and only a few hours from Los Angeles. We're also conveniently located near shopping, banks and medical offices, and the city bus stops right at our doorstep.

Pros: The grounds are well-kept. The staff is responsive. The staff is friendly Cons: The food is mediocre. The activities need more creative options. The safety in the outer units needs to be improved...higher fencing, for example, to keep out the homeless. Also need better window coverage to prevent people looking right in.

Critical#1 IT WAS A VERY LONG WALK FROM OUR ROOM TO THE DINING AREA. THREE TIMES A DAY GOT to be too much. #2. Sandwiches for dinner too many days a week. #3. Tables were sticky most of the time and food remained uncleaned under the tables. #4 neighbors dogs in the hallways very often. #5.
