About the community
Haven Care – Fir House is a small, secure residential memory care home serving individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia-related conditions. Located in a quiet residential area of northwest Albuquerque, Fir House offers a peaceful, home-like environment designed to support safety, routine, and individualized care. Haven Care has been providing senior care services in Albuquerque for nearly 30 years and specializes exclusively in residential memory care. We are locally owned and operated, not part of a national chain, and our care model is built around smaller homes that allow for consistency, familiarity, and meaningful relationships between residents and caregivers. Fir House serves up to six residents, each in a private or semi-private bedroom, allowing caregivers to provide attentive, personalized support throughout the day and night. The home is fully secured, including controlled entry and enclosed outdoor areas, and is staffed 24 hours a day to ensure resident safety and well-being. Residents receive comprehensive assisted living services, including medication management, assistance with bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility support, and ongoing supervision tailored to individual needs. Care plans are personalized and updated as residents’ needs change. In addition to daily caregiving staff, Haven Care’s Administrator and Compliance Director are regularly present in the home, supporting staff, monitoring care delivery, and ensuring consistent standards and regulatory compliance. Daily engagement is incorporated into the home’s routine based on residents’ abilities and interests, encouraging social interaction and purposeful activity in a comfortable setting. Nutritious, home-style meals and snacks are prepared daily. Optional services such as hair care and massage therapy are also available. Fir House serves families throughout Albuquerque and the surrounding communities who are seeking a smaller, more personal alternative to larger memory care facilities. Families are encouraged to schedule a visit to experience our residential care model and see how Haven Care supports dignity, comfort, and quality of life for those living with memory loss.

CriticalThe caregivers at Haven care fir house were wonderful. They cared for my dad like their own. But the bookkeeping part of the short time he was there was a nightmare. The double charged us the down payment. They sent us a link to pay online and then drafted our account also.they took a couple of weeks to refund us for that. The prorated amount for the first month was drafted more than what was on the contract. Our dad passed away on the [removed] of the month and we removed all his belongings by the [removed] and th…
Response from the communityThank you for sharing your feedback and for your kind words about our caregivers. We're glad to hear they provided the compassionate care your father deserved. However, I sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered with our billing process. I understand how important it is for everything to run smoothly, especially during such a difficult time. I would like to clarify a few points. Refunds are indeed subject to review, and occasionally incidental charges from third-party providers are invoiced up to 30 days later. Our accounting team needs time to reconcile these charges to ensure accuracy for families. Rest assured, we are not experiencing financial difficulties. In fact, Haven Care is approaching its 30th year as one of Albuquerque's largest residential memory care facilities. Regarding the payment link, I’m uncertain what you’re referring to, as we do not use such a service. Additionally, after reviewing the prorated charges, it appears the move-in date was earlier than expected. If we failed to clearly communicate this to you, I take full responsibility for that oversight. We are more than happy to assist in resolving any outstanding concerns, including providing any necessary invoices or receipts. Please don’t hesitate to reach out, and we will work to resolve this promptly. Thank you again for your feedback—it helps us improve, and we truly value the opportunity to address your concerns.

PositiveI would recommend the facility because of the staff, the cleanliness and the homey quality. We loved being able to sit outside in the shaded garden. The food was pretty basic, but they tried to meet my mother's needs for easy to chew foods. The activities at the time we were using the facility was not enough. There may have been changes since. They had someone before we were there that was much better, had "manicure Mondays" and "gardening Tuesdays". I was able to spend a lot of time at the house and augmented this…
Response from the communityThank you for sharing your experience and for recommending our facility. We're glad to hear that you appreciated our caring staff, the cleanliness, and the cozy, home-like environment. It’s wonderful to know that you and your mother enjoyed spending time in our shaded garden—creating peaceful outdoor spaces is something we value. We appreciate your feedback regarding the food and are glad our team worked to accommodate your mother's needs for easy-to-chew meals. We’re always striving to provide the best care possible, including in the dining experience. Your comments about the activities are helpful, and we understand how important engaging programs are for our residents. While we do try to offer a variety of activities, it sounds like we may have fallen short during your time with us. Your feedback about past activities like "Manicure Mondays" and "Gardening Tuesdays" is something we’ll take into account as we continue to improve and expand our offerings. Thank you again for your kind words and for being involved in your mother’s care. We hope to keep evolving to meet the needs of all our residents!

PositiveAs the caregiver for [name removed], I thought the property could have used some updating - painting and such, and they are short on activities. However the cleanliness of the community is good.
