Overall nice community

The staff seems to be very nice and caring even when the patients are having a bad day. I have eaten there, and I found the food to be very good. The manager and supervising nurse ([name removed]) are very accommodating when I need extra help with my brother.

Homestead of Shawnee Experience

We moved her to Homestead during that time when we saw what she needed. We were very pleased with Homestead also because it was nearer my residence. I was able to see her everyday. Homestead was a smaller place and had a courtyard for her little dog to play in. It was only one level.

A nice facility for your family member when they can no longer take care of themselves.

Based on the experience we have had so far, we think some areas they could improve on would be more regular cleaning of the residents rooms. More activities for the residents to participate in and to have a lower value for cost.

I loved this community really nice great place for the money really liked it just no pt for my loved one

I think the community needs more staff. They need to work on their food. The communication, and follow up. with the family and residents could be improved on. There are games, bingo, movies, and more for the residents to choose from for activities.

I would recommend for anybody in retirement

We chose Homestead of Shawnee because it was right in our neighborhood and the price was as good as we could possibly get in a situation like that. Her room size was great, she was in a double room but she was the only one living in there so it was more like a little apartment. She also said the food was good. The best part about the community was the staff members who worked here, they were all great. I would recommend the community.
