The staff members have worked there for years. I find that to be very comforting. They are extremely attentive and caring towards mom. She is in a studio apartment, which I find to be quite spacious. Her apartment is kept clean and her laundry is done regularly. Unfortunately, mom is no longer able to eat solid food, but when she was able to, she never complained.

Review for Northstar Square

I can only comment on the initial application process but not much more because my Dad was only there one night and they had to call 911 for him because he was having difficulty breathing. He ended up in hospital with pneumonia and heart failure and then went to hospice where he passed away. I was however happy with the application process and the tour, move in etc. it is a smaller facility so I felt it would be a good fit for my dad as his mobility was a problem. Smaller than some of the other places I toured but very warm and inviting. The staff are very knowledgable and friendly and seemed like they really enjoyed working there. The residents seemed happy and it is more affordable than a lot of the other larger places I looked at. I like that it is an "age in place" and I think my father would be very comfortable there.

If you have to choose an assisted living home, choose this one!

They are passionate, professional and very attuned to the residents needs and issues. They keep in contact with us when there is an issue or incident then keep us abreast of resolution. They are all AWESOME!!!!! Oh yeah, Pop says the food is delicious!!!!

Like home

The atmosphere has a home feel. The facility has always been clean each time I have popped in to visit my mom. Everyone of the staff members that I have encountered have been very friendly, and are there to answer any questions. [Name Removed] , the activity director always has a smile. You can tell she loves her job. The ladies that I know that care for my mom are kind and friendly([Names Removed]). I love that my mom has daily options ( like a menu ) of food choices . Overall great choice

Positive: the activities director and nurse are very kind and have been very helpful when I have any questions or concerns Negative: the administrative staff seem to be unorganized frequently so paperwork gets lost or not properly filled out
