PositiveNice place, overall pleased
The staff and level of care are very good. I cannot comment much on the activities since my brother does not participate, but overall, we are pleased with the facility. The food is typical of what you would expect in a senior living community. The rooms are a good size, all the rooms I have seen include private bathrooms, and they are kept clean and well maintained. CriticalNot a good fit - confirm services they provide.
The stay only last two days. They were not prepared to handle someone with early stage dementia. Palms staff said no problem when this was brought up during the interview process. We had to find another facility without any prior notification. Cleanliness wad just ok, there was a very bad smell on my mother-law's floor. There was no one at the front desk and front doors weren't locked after 5 pm. Basically the building was unsecure after 5 pm. The staff seemed ok but, just not a good experience.

PositiveReview for The Palms at O'Neil
Very good value for the money. Very clean. Even have hospice in the building if needed. The room is a double without a second resident so it seems large but I think very comfortable when fully occupied. My brother is a challenge since he is on Homecare. The facility is cheerful and the staff is very friendly. New owner since [date removed]. I would give them a 5. Again, they have been very receptive helping my brother with his challenging problems. Bathroom is in the room similar to a hospital situation.

CriticalThe Palms at O'Neil
We were led to believe that they cared for early stage dementia patients, that end not being the case. After a minor aggression episode, my mother in law was displaced and sent to the local hospital. It was cleared stated that my mom's mother was in the early stages of dementia and asked if this would be a problem for them. They said no. Within a week she was displaced. So we now had to scramble to find a place for her to reside.

My mother in law really felt cared for and treated well. We would recommend to others. [name removed] said that "If she needed to stay anywhere, that would be a great place for her to stay." It was clean, and the staff members were patient with her- even when she became upset after the sun went down.
