Affordable with easy move-in

Move-in was quick and easy. The newly remodeled unit was nice and met our needs. Staff stood in the outside corridors and hollered across the way to each other during the middle of the night shift, and their walkie talkies were at full volume while working at night, constantly waking us. It took about 3-4 weeks for the staff to set up a routine that met all our needs, which was very frustrating. Not many social activities. Works well with ALTCS

I greatly appreciate Scottsdale Village Square. I would absolutely recommend to others.

Our Experience with a Quick Move

[name removed] did a good job of working with us to get moved in on a tight timeline. He worked with ALTCS to get my mom's payment set up right away. He helped get them a unit that was useful for my dad, too, so they could live together comfortably. My parents moved in on the day that the new owners took over the property, so there were some delays in getting my mom's care established. Apartment size is small, but comfortable. Since I don't live there, I have no comment on the food and activities.

Horrible! Bait and Switch. We did not get what we paid for.

Care staff - the facility is very very understaffed. They make up their own rules and procedures. When you ask about the care given to a resident they will argue and tell you that they are understaffed and they will do whatever they need to do to get their work done. Ex; a tech stopped giving medication to a resident [which did happen to my family member]. I spoke to the director and her response was " I know exactly who you are referring to as I have had that problem with her for a while'. Yet nothing changed. Ma…

Any disciplinary action over medication administration is confidential but, you have our word that we have heard you. We understand the importance of a well-functioning environment and will work with our maintenance team to prioritize essential repairs and improve status communication on all repairs. Of high importance is the goal to offer a pleasant dining experience and your feedback offers our kitchen and dining staff reinforcement that they will address supply needs effectively and maintain the correct hours of operation. Finally, we want to assure you that we take the safety of our residents seriously; and that they feel safe about the community they have chosen to reside. What stood out the most was the Great personal care and concern. Business office somewhat difficult to deal with. [name removed] was the only person who solved my concerns with money issues.

Review for Scottsdale Village Square

It was a complete mess when we started the process we were told we would save money by for their "specials". That never happened. I complained that the employee smoking area was right by my parents so they couldn't even open windows! Nothing changed. There was raw sewage in the same place as the smoking area. This is the second time that this person has written the same negative review about our community. We are sorry that she was disappointed, but we reviewed her situation, and overall, we do not agree with her comments. Throughout our association, she did not have any complaints nor present any issues. And she was pleased when we made special accommodation for the apartment location. We understand the stress and difficulty in finding the right place for aging parents, and we hope that she has found the right place now.
