My sister requires assistance with daily activities such as getting dressed, showering, and using the bathroom. She frequently has difficulty receiving timely help, particularly when she needs assistance with toileting and getting ready for the day. Most of the staff is very friendly however they are extremely understaffed. Some of the staff does not understand dementia and therefore did not have patience with my mom and I had cameras in her room to witness her being yelled at several times. The staff does not get paid well enough therefore they have trouble hiring and keeping staff members. They had me sign my mother's personal care plan and did not adhere to the plan at all. She was supposed to be checked on every four hours sometimes it said every two hours…

I currently reside at the Arbors of Hauppauge. I have made many friends here. I have been living here 4 months. The staff are great and I have no major complaints at this time. I am happy to have 3 meals a day,and laundry service here. It was really getting hard for me to manage those chores at home. I am very pleased.

They were great ; 1 thing that caused concern and I was stressed about: They just need to make sure upon admission that they understand the different medical coverages accepted when a person relocates into the facility from a hospital or wherever, etc... [name removed] at Arbors told us we didn't need a certain medical plan for brother [name removed] and then patient/resident ended up having to pay [fee removed] out of pocket for medication for 1 month. Everything is great, except…… Whenever you call to have someone come to your room for help it’s at least a 2 hour wait. The aide told us there is only 1 worker for 20 rooms! Before we signed the lease we were told 30 min max. Unacceptable
