Overall experience was very positive. Most notable is the friendliness of both staff and residents. It truly feels like a close-knit community. My dad was only there for two weeks and he enjoyed getting to know everyone. Dad had a one bedroom apartment that was a nice size for one person or even a couple. The full kitchen was a nice feature but hardly used. Washer and Dryer in the unit is a definite bonus. And the ability to pay an additional fee if more personal care is needed is a plus. My Mom hasn't been there since last November. She then went to the hospital and is now in skilled nursing. Scored lower on admin because corporate office doubled rent out of bank account. Multiple calls, they wouldn't communicate in writing (email). Ended up contacting bank to dispute charge. Gables is independent only. The staff is helpful but the food does accommodate a resident who needs low salt diet due to heart failure. Apartment is single bedroom and it's beautiful with plenty of room.

The staff was exceptional with the Director being useless. They changed the menu eliminating breakfast which was now continental and just carbs plus paper and plastic utensils. There was no dinner Sunday nights and they frequently ran out of specialty entrees. The apartments were in fair condition.
