PositiveNot a good fit for dementia resident
My rating is based on expectations of Assisted living for someone without dementia. Unfortunately that is not my case & I will most likely be moving my mom to another facility. I don't want to rate them poorly for what they can offer. It's just not a good fit for my mom. If it weren't for the dementia she would be happier. I don't believe they have any other residents suffering from this medical condition so it's been challenging.

PositiveGood value for money
Fox Knoll provides what’s important to me and my resident brother for his Independent Living at a reasonable price. The apartments are nice size and clean and they provide a modest continental breakfast and evening meal in a beautiful dining room, overlooking the Fox River. They have clean, free and working washers and dryers on each floor for residents to use and cleaning services are included every other week for your apartment.

Fox Knoll Village was a nice environment for our mother's needs. The Memory Care Unit is small (not a bad thing), only 14 residents, and there was only 7 during our experience, so we felt as though there was a good staff-to-patient ratio. We felt the staff to be attentive & kind, they would call us immediately in the event of any issue or emergency. The food was good. The rooms were nice enough, although the windows were very dirty we realized it was the middle of winter when she was admitted so had hope for Spring…

My mother is almost ninety eight years old. She has been in an independent living facility for decades. As time progressed the cost increased to the point it was impossible to stay where she was. I needed help, I found it with A Place for Mom. They helped us try and get compensation for my father's military service during WWII. I would give them a 5 on everything. I was assisting an elderly woman (no relation) who was abandoned by her adult son. I spoke with the lady a couple weeks after she had moved in and she seemed very happy / had no complaints. Told me the food was good and they waited on them at mealtime so she enjoyed that. I liked the staff there very much and may end up needing their assistance with my own Aunt in the future.
