Overall it was not a great experience. Very inconsistent in care, food was not good at all, they do not accommodate special diets .

The building is beautiful; however, the care at the place is abysmal. If your loved one doesn't need any assistance, the place is OK. If your loved one needs any type of care, it is unlikely that it will happen with any consistency. The administration is only interested in maximizing profit. One day your loved one will be well cared for, but the next day, your loved one may be sitting in filth all day. Would not recommend

Poorly managed, the food is not good, things are not kept clean floors in the dining room area are always dirty. The public bathrooms are not cleaned very well. My mom's level of care plan was never followed the way it was supposed to be followed. She was given the wrong medication on several occasions when she was at the end of life it was supposed to have her morphine every two hours, one day it was four hours before she got her dose of medicine. My Aunt is always so happy.

My aunt lives at the Phoenix at Hammond. Although she is pleasantly confused, she is always happy, clean, and well cared for. The staff is very open to making anything happen when we have a request. There isn't a better place for your loved one(s).

Room for improvements

That communication is not very good. My mom's care plan is pretty simple and they still can't follow it. Supervisors need to be present, especially on the weekends. The director is not visible, hardly at all around the property.
