The Wyngate Senior Living Community (Parkersburg)

Very disappointing experience

This assisted living does not adequately take care of memory care needs for residents with Alzheimer’s or Dementia diseases, although they charge them with higher level rates. My mother’s rent was increased three levels in three months, housekeeping did not keep her room clean, my mother was not kept clean, and the food is awful. Very disappointing!

The Wyngate Senior Living Community

My friend moved here and we have heard they liked it. He is no longer at the community, but his wife still is and seems to be very happy with it. They have activities available, which I have heard are good. During the the Covid-19 pandemic, they actually had the staff move into the community, so they would limit their outside exposure and protect the residents. The one niece who is in charge of all my friend's financial services is very happy with it. The staff is very friendly with her and she seems to like them.

No longer the premier facility of Parkersburg

The quality of care at Wyngate has gone down tremendously over the last four years. They are unable to keep staff from nurses to aides to kitchen help. I am in to see my mother multiple times a week and familiar faces are few and far between. The resident care suffers temendously when the staff is constantly changing. We chose Wyngate because it was the premier facility in the Parkersburg area, but it needs to improve it standard of care.

All of the staff no matter their role, were completely genuine in their service and heart for their jobs. They took great care of our mother.

Very nice place. The people are very friendly. Cost is a little higher but you get what you pay for. That being said, the only problem I have is it is private pay only.
