CriticalI have visited a friend in Memory Care unit over the past two years and have been deeply disappointed in the care that she receives. She sleeps in a urine soaked mattress with no linens. The smell of urine is overwhelming in the entire unit. When she sleeps through a meal it appears that she has to wait til the next meal for food. Never has a drink available between meals. Staff is frequently lounging and not providing care.Shame on the staff and her family for allowing such poor care.
★★★★★
PositiveIt has been a little over a year since we started living separate lives. [name removed] on the inside and me on the outside. In general I try to stay out of the staff's way. They are generous to a fault. Thus a 41/2 score to them. They deal with angry outbursts, try to keep the patients dry and clean and give hugs freely. Finding enough staff is a problem.( my opinion) These patients seem to prefer routine. Food. Is a continual thing of interest. To me it would only rate a 3. Repetitive, cold sandwiches for many…

PositiveThey are really great with my Mom. She has done so much better while being in their care. The staff is great and very attentive. I am very happy with her care. The staff is also very caring.
★★★★★
PositiveIts a stressful time for patient and family. They will get a snapshot of a day "in the life of...."Let them hear from you about your facility's good points, and do what you do best. Be honest and patient.

PositiveMy loved one was previously a resident at Commonwealth Senior Living at Hagerstown and it was a great experience. The staff were so great with all of the residents and took the time just to chat. The facility was always clean. The food always looked tasty. Commonwealth Senior Living at Hagerstown was such a great place and I would recommend the facility to others.
★★★★★
PositiveWhile the Commonwealth facilities themselves aren't quite as top-notch as my loved one's previous facility (although they are not bad), the quality of care has been SO much better at Commonwealth. And that's really what is important. My loved one's experience has been great so far at Commonwealth.
