Bonaventure was a good choice for our family

My mom is happy and very content there and that's what I care about. She likes the food but I think they could have a better variety that's why I gave it 4. I believe most of the people are older ( my mom's 90) but very nice. She has a nice size One bedroom apartment, but they have different sizes from studio to 2 bedroom. She had housekeeper who cleans her room, changes sheets and washes towels and bedding. My mom adores her. She is independent living so she gets lunch and dinner; there are lots of exercises, mov…

The actual apartment had everything I was looking for a kitchen, a deck, closets, enough storage for me. Plus, the people who interviewed me and showed me around were very nice very friendly and fun.

They were easy to contact and meet with. [name removed] showed us a few variations of rooms which my mom appreciated. We also had a to complicate things because of my mom's extreme sensitivity to sun glare we had to be sure the room was facing south (luck was on our side)and they were willing to work with us On when we moved in. All the staff has been very welcoming and friendly. They redirect mom when she gets turned around. They have numerous activities so not hard to find something to do. The food is pretty good…

Bonaventure of Tigard

Many issues. I felt like I was doing most of the care and issues were not addressed. They had housekeeping issues as well. My mom was physically assaulted by another resident at Bonaventure and they didn't handle it as well as they could. A med tech was signing off meds that he never gave and eventually was fired after I was able to finally prove that my mom didn't receive them. I could go on and on. Just happy that I have found a safe place for my sweet mom.

Staff was very accommodating to family and friends. One concern was large chunks of meat; residents unable to cut with fork and with gravy messy to pick up with hands - it's a Choking concern.

I see my mom at least five days out of the week. I always go a different times because I've always got my eye out on what they're doing and what they're not. I think any facility your loved ones are in there are things that don't get done. fortunately for me They know I come around and I think my mom gets probably better treatment than most. I advocate for my mom all the time and I worry about people there that don't have somebody that does that for them. Putting your loved one in a facility doesn't mean that they …
