My experience trying to help my mom

My mom has been there about a year now. Took me most of that time to get her meds right and delivered to her in a timely matter. A handful of the staff are there to do a job and care about the situations and the others are there because they need a job. They work short handed alot. Food seems to be ok but my mom doesn't like it. It takes a long time to get someone to follow thru on a problem and correct it. Nobody gets back to you, you have to follow up yourself if you want an answer. Communication is really bad. …

Great environment

[name removed] has been great every step of the way. [name removed] is enjoying the food The staff is very nice and has been very accommodating. We're happy with our decision to have Columbia Place be [name removed] new home. The apartment is perfect for him.

A comfortable and homelike place for my mother's last few months

The staff were very kind to me and my mother. I could tell she was loved and well taken care of. There could've been better communication between the staff and me when supplies needed restocking and when my mother needed medical attention.

Improvements needed

The food is to accommodate the ones that don't have chewing problems. You must ask for soft food for the ones that don't have the teeth. No vegan options. No traditional Asian or other options This is a problem for new residents.

Care staff

I want to say that [name removed]does a great job! She is the best I have ever had and I have been in 3 different communities. I would recommend [name removed]to any residents. I would also like to say the marketing lady, [name removed], is very helpful.

Life at Columbia

We moved my mother into Columbia Place in August. She has a large studio apartment at the front of the building, so she overlooks the front lawn. She seems to really enjoy the view. There is round the clock care there and fortunately we have had no need for yet but it is a comfort to us knowing it’s there. Meals are mainly taken in the dining area on the main floor. My mother thinks the food is great.
