Mom is cared for and doing well

Mom spent 4 months at an assisted living facility. When she could no longer stay there, we were very concerned about finding an appropriate place. Very pleased with care, responsiveness

Mom is doing so much better since moving here nearly a year ago. She was in assisted living briefly but needed better long-term care. She has dementia, vision loss, and mobility issues, so many activities and true independence isn't possible. She misses her home, but she could no longer live on her own. She’s safe and well cared for here. It's a warm, homey place, and she spends time in the living room where she can interact with staff and others. TOXIC owner, environment, workplace.

Mom had multiple UTI's (urinary tract infections) and got a black eye. We were discouraged from going to the Emergency Department but they kept Mom for 3 nights when we did. I was personally retaliated against by the owner giving us a 30 Day Notice of Discharge two times, both immediately denied by the state. Then when we were trying to move out, he called Adult Protective Services saying I was taking my mom against her will. I visited a friend at Galloway residential homes for dementia in the Northland on several occasions and found this home to be warm and loving. Many of the staff members have been there for years, I did not know that residential homes like this exist and I was impressed. My friend came from a larger facility and has done very well, I have noticed a dramatic change in her.
