PositiveI live in a one bedroom with den independent cottage. Great space for me. Cleaning service weekly which are included in my rent. Restaurant style dining, with several options and daily specials. I really like the variety of the food. Staff overall are very nice.

CriticalHeartlands has gone through a recent renovation and it’s beautiful. The apartment is spacious. The activities and amenities are great. My sister-in-law seems very comfortable there. The staff that I’ve dealt with has been great. We did have a hiccup with the departure of the Nursing Director in her first month there, which I believe will be rectified as soon as they are able to hire a full-time person.

PositiveThe staff interactions have all been positive. Everyone is super friendly and helpful and seem genuinely glad to have my mom there. The negatives would just be that the facility is obviously old and a bit run down. They're renovating now though so that'll likely help. Another negative is that my mom's apartment was very dirty on move in day and required maintenance had not been completed. Some of it still hasn't and she has been there a month. Her front door jamb is literally made of duct tape. All in all, though, …

PositiveWe had a very nice tour of Heartland Senior Community in Ellicott City, Md. The tour was very informative and we learned quite a bit about the community. We were not able to see any studio apartment as none were currently available so that was a bit disappointing but we were able to tour a 1BR and 2BR unit, see the various public spaces for dining, living, crafts/hobbies, etc. The grounds are very nice with ponds, paths, and lots of trees.
