About Lotus Park Douglasville

Lotus Park Douglasville is just minutes away from Wellstar Douglas Hospital, shopping, and dining. The stylish craftsman style property features 52 assisted living apartments and 34 memory care apartments. Each aspect of the community has been built with the best interests of elders in mind, fulfilling a mission that CEO Alex Salabarria and his father began more than two decades ago. The Salabarria family’s commitment to being personally available to residents, their family members and staff is what sets them apart from most senior living operators. Some unique amenities offered include all day dining, bird aviaries, aquariums, community pets, separate secured memory care, chapel, putting green, children's playground and on site physical and occupational therapy. Their multi-generational approach creates a family-like culture. Visitors from local daycare centers, schools, churches and various organizations often are in the communities, bridging the gap between multiple generations. The family’s mission is to provide an environment where people are valued and appreciated, honoring personal choice and providing a sense of purpose while enabling meaningful relationships. Family Operated assisted living and memory care serving GA since 1998.

Good experience

I have to say that the place has very nice staff who are attentive and responsive. The housing is normally clean in the common areas and also the activities are happening almost daily so that's really good for people who want to participate in those things. I have built a relationship with most of the staff there so anytime I call or email to voice of concern they are usually responsive within a few days. One of the things that could be improved is the communication around medication and how it is tracked and dispe

Review for Lotus Park Douglasville

Since new management has taken over things are poorly communicated if communicated at all. Food is not to this age group desire. These are people in there 80's and 90's they don't want foods they've never heard of. Mom's care went from level 3 to level 1 but it seems the lady who sends out the invoices wasn't made aware of the change. They never respond to emails. It's truly like nobody knows what's going on. My doctor was shocked to see the name Lotus on her paperwork. Not sure what he meant but I got the feeling

Resident/Management Community

The community has a resident group which discusses facility situations and presents them to the responsible parties. The desires and needs of the community seem to be shared and addressed, which seems to be a good working relationship between the resident community and management. The staff is very visible, accessible, and available concerning issues that need to be addressed.

Welcoming Facility

This facility felt a little more welcoming than the others and they were within our budget. There has been a bit of turnover in the kitchen, but overall the staff is very friendly and helpful to my parents. The elevator inspection has been expired since February...

Helpful Staff

My mom has been transitioning from her present home into Oaks. I can't give you much info on staff and activities, but I can comment on her two dining experiences (one lunch and one dinner). She was placed at a table where she immediately enjoyed those who she dined with and enjoyed the food and attentiveness of the service staff. The staff that I've met with as my family has been preparing my mom's apartment have been very accommodating and supportive during this transition.

Overall a very nice place

As is somewhat typical with these type of facilities, there is a moderately high turnover rate of staff. Over the past year, Oaks has changed directors once, activities directors 3 times, and has a part time person at the desk. They have changed food service staff twice and have a hard time keeping more than one full time house keeper for residents rooms. My dad, who is the resident, said the food quality has gone down when they changed food service and they have to wait almost an hour to get their food after arri
