About the community
Oaks at Hampton is proud to be an Eden Alternative® certified assisted living and memory care community located in Cumming, Georgia. The Eden registry exists to honor those organizations that have made a formal commitment to transforming traditional methods of care into an approach that puts the needs and preferences of each person first. In a society that seldom sees caring for another as a fine art, the Eden Registry serves as an “honor roll” that highlights and celebrates those who have chosen to actively collaborate with and empower the people that they serve. We are close to many churches, North GA Premium Outlet shopping, and Northside Forsyth Hospital. Our community provides a tranquil atmosphere, and our services and amenities are designed to care for the “whole person.” We promote physical, social, and spiritual well-being in a faith-based setting and are committed to providing residents with a high quality of life. Our single story craftsman style property features 48 assisted living apartments and 36 memory care apartments. Each aspect of the community has been built with the best interests of elders in mind, fulfilling a mission that CEO Alex Salabarria and his father began more than two decades ago. The Salabarria family’s commitment to being personally available to residents, their family members and staff is what sets them apart from most senior living operators. Some unique amenities offered include all-day dining, bird aviaries, aquariums, community pets, separate secured memory care, on-site physical and occupational therapy, Chapel and a children’s playground. Our multi-generational approach creates a family-like culture. Visitors from local daycare centers, schools, churches, and various organizations are often in the communities, bridging the gap between multiple generations. The family’s mission is to provide an environment where people are valued and appreciated, honoring personal choice and providing a sense of purpose while enabling meaningful relationships. Family Operated assisted living and memory care serving Georgia since 1998.

CriticalI wouldn't recommend the Oaks at Hampton, it didn't work out. Consider a smaller community. There are some good people at the Oaks, we just don't feel that the care is adequate for the elderly with Alzheimer's.

CriticalFirst, there are many wonderful folks that work there. However, when your loved one has Parkinson’s and then enters hospice, having the substitute med tech be disrespectful to them – initially when they enter hospice and then a month later on the night that they pass away – that’s not something that management should tolerate. That’s what happened. My wife wrote detailed reviews on this and other platforms sharing the details several months later. I’m not going to recap the content of her review here, except to …
Response from the communityMark - Thank you for sharing your continued perspective. We recognize the seriousness of the concerns you and your wife have raised and again acknowledge the loss your family has experienced. As communicated in prior responses, our community completed a comprehensive internal review of the situation, including review of the video footage provided, and the matter was also reviewed by the appropriate state regulatory agency. Both reviews concluded that care standards were followed and that no policy or regulatory violations occurred. We understand that you disagree with these findings. We also want to reiterate that outreach efforts were made by leadership to extend sympathy and to offer further discussion regarding your concerns. It is always our intention to communicate transparently and respectfully, particularly in end-of-life circumstances. Our commitment remains to ensuring dignity, compassion, and accountability in the care of every resident. Should you wish to speak further with leadership, we remain available and encourage you to contact us at (770) 796-5871.

PositiveI had a friend ask me to tour the facility for their mom. I was very impressed. The facility was beautiful already and they are improving it more with updates throughout the facility. The gathering areas were very tastefully done, and plenty of room. And so many outdoor spaces enclosed and in the open. One area had a lovely veranda and every entry/exit has a covered porch with plenty of seating and benches out in the garden areas. Everyone that I encountered were very friendly. So many activity areas inside. If and…

PositiveMy mother was a resident in the memory care unit of the Oaks at Hampton for the last 2+ years until her recent passing. The care and attention she received during her time at the Oaks was beyond my expectations. The staff was attentive and caring to my mom, and as best as I could determine, equally caring and attentive to the needs of all of the residents. I almost never had to ask a question as the staff would provide updates for me on nearly every visit. From the Director on down, the Oaks is truly committed to t…
