About Simpson House, a CCRC

Simpson House is conveniently located at the corner of Belmont and Monument Avenues and overlooks beautiful Fairmont Park. Simpson House was founded in 1865 to attend to the needs of older persons in the community after the Civil War. This unbroken chain of caring exists today as we provide a unique and reputable tradition of commitment, care and affordability. Simpson House is a CCRC (Continuing Care Retirement Community). We offer Independent Living and Personal Care residences, while also providing Skilled Nursing options, including on-site rehabilitation, in our Flanagan building. Walk through the front door and you will immediately sense the friendliness and welcoming spirit that makes Simpson House a very special place. A close-knit community of independent seniors, we take great pride in the fact that each new resident immediately feels a part of the Simpson House 'family.' Simpson House is America's oldest retirement community historically related to the United Methodist Church. Among Philadelphia, PA's retirement communities, our name is trusted for comfort and care.

Our families experience

We are unsure about the activities, and some of the infrastructure is old. However, what we like the most about the community is that they are very friendly and welcoming. Yes, I would recommend the community

Review for Simpson House, a CCRC

My mother has been in independent living at Simpson House for several months now. While it has been a significant change for her, I could not have asked the staff and residents to be more supportive with her transition. The meals are very high quality. Everyone has been very welcoming. I am grateful she is safe and in good hands.

Charm and Beauty * More Respect&Courtesy Please

Simpson House is beautiful. Olde Main offers a unique charm. Cornerstone boasts a more modern appearance and is more expensive. All in all courtesy and respect could be improved at Simpson. Perhaps some employees see little chance for advancement and feel stuck in their jobs. Concerns expreseed need to be taken seriously ,handled promptly. The excellent employees who go above and beyond need raises/ bonuses based on merit. At the least, they need commendations. The green box program needs to be revisited. It is a

Because the size of Simpson House is relatively small, it is easy for both residents and staff to know each other. Both my husband and I had occasion to be in rehab here. We moved into independent living last March and each of us was in rehab this summer. The staff still follows my return to the community. They help wherever needed. Some have been here for 40 years! It is great having both medical staff and physical therapists on site. For most of us, we take planning activities and sharing experiences as an opport

My forever home

My husband and I are residents at Simpson House. The facility is spotless. The services offered with the residents, such as linen service and housekeeping, are excellent. The fact that this is a non-profit facility and on the smaller side of such facilities are both selling points. I would highly recommend the Simpson House to others.
