1. It began with the intake process. Medication reconciliation was a mess and she was removed from meds without a physician order. Understand that I handed them the med list from the previous facility along with the blister packs of the meds. Specifically, her Metoprolol 100mg/day was deleted. 2. She was sent emergently to the hospital on the Friday night following entry into The Gardens in AFib with RVR.she wasn't sent to her preferred hospital, but the other because they had not captured that information at inta…

The Gardens of Amarillo Memory Care review

I think other families would find it helpful to know that the staff and caretakers are trained in what they do. The Garden's stay on a structured schedule that keeps the residents moving, thinking, and feeling safe. The staff is always approchable , kind and understanding to families. I know because I my momma lives there. I had a good feeling about the facility and ALL staff when I first toured for my momma, and that has never changed??

Very nice accommodation & welcoming staff

Highly recommended.. love the place & the staff.. my dad is very happy & smiling again.. it's a very clean & homey feel.. good food& lots of special programs for memory care.. residents r kept busy for the most of the day & not kept in there rooms.. I feel at peace with my dad living there. I'm 5 mins away from the gardens so I can see my dad every day.. [name removed] my dad has a awesome room he can look out from 2 big windows & see alot.

A new journey.

The Gardens of Amarillo is very nice and the staff is exceptional. I looked at several options before settling on The Gardens of Amarillo. I wanted my Alzheimer loved one to have the best care and also great private accommodations that are similar to home living. I also relied on other friend’s experiences who had loved ones in the facility and spoke highly of the caring staff and the daily scheduled activities for residents. Every person that works there that have met are AMAZING!!!

I highly recommend this place for your loved ones. The place is clean, caring, and friendly. Everyone even the maintenance man [name removed] goes out of his way to help. [names removed], the nurses and kitchen workers there are always smiling.

Needed to keep a better eye on clients.

They know their business but they need more staff. The room was horribly cold with no way to get more heat. They let my husband fall the first night he was there and had a serious head injury. Getting back and forth from a ER visit is a major problem unless you live in Amarillo.
