The Phoenix at Dunwoody

I would ask your facility to work with other residences, family, and friends who have visited patients to be sure to contact / lobby government officials about the need for hospice and other types of care provided in your facilities to be paid for by Medicare Medicaid, or other private resources that a patient may have. As a long time oncology, nurse specialist, I believe that there are still many misconceptions within the general population about what comprises hospice care and how a patient and family may best a

If your love one needs a lot of assistance look elsewhere. If they are independent, they should be okay.

They are not trained properly. I had items stolen. They did not assist you hen help was needed at night or after hours. Money was wasted on a call button that they never answered. Get to know everyone who is involved in your love one's heath care, make sure they write a care plan and check your expenses. Ask questions about staff training and education. If your love one needs a lot of assistance look elsewhere. If they are independent, they should be okay. The amount of money paid did not equal the services rendere

Not recommended

My loved one was previously a resident at The Phoenix at Dunwoody and our overall experience with this facility was terrible. I do not feel like the the salesperson that we worked with was truthful with us. In fact, I think the salesperson was intentionally hiding information. Again, not a good experience. I would not recommend The Phoenix at Dunwoody to others.

Overall except last couple of weeks 4+ My Mothers backside at the coccyx began to have skin breakdown and I think she became dehydrated. Individually each caregiver listened to my concerns but I don't think my suggestions were taken . The faculty as a whole was good. They hurriedly sent my Mother to St Joseph one evening where the skin breakdown escalated and she began to fail rapidly; my opinion The manager in charge gets a 5. I don't want to hurt his position or his job. I feel he did his best to try.

Okay Community, Needs Improvement

I would recommend you look elsewhere. The staff is very friendly and accommodating; however, some of the services offered didn't meet up to the standards expected. There could be a new cook due to the taste and food choices offered. There has been several staff members that have left.

They work hard to make a difficult process easier.

We've had a very positive experience. One of the only issues we've had was during the application process, some things weren't explained very well. We did some of the medical stuff ahead of time so it wouldn't be happening all at once. Then we had to do it all over again because it wasn't explained that it would have to be done within a certain amount of time. So the admissions and medical process was kind of complicated and cumbersome. But since we've been there and have been visiting, they've been very patient, g
