CriticalI do not endorse the Texan House. The rooms are converted barn stalls and not appropriate for family members with disabilities. The bathrooms are too small and not mobility accessible. The rooms are dark/dreary, there’s no activities for residents, and no one certified to give medication. The main house is a good distance from the rooms leaving residents isolated. PositiveWe actually loved the family- like feel and the small community of the Texan house. The owner and his staff take a personal interest in each resident and his or her needs. The issue for us was it was too far from the San Antonio airport area, which is where the closest relatives live.
