Brookdale South Park

I brought a friend that was diagnosed with dementia 2 years ago. I liked the facilities. I felt like it would be a safe place. My friend doesn’t feel like he is ready. The doctor will make that decision

Well I showed up for my tour and no one was there. I mean there was zero staff anywhere. There was a sign on the concierge desk to see staff upstairs and again no staff to be found. But all the doors were unlocked and anyone is free to wander around with access to any part of the facility. I tried calling a couple of numbers but either the mailbox was full or I was transferred to the corporate number. Imagine if I had an emergency?? I think the staff is engaged and caring. The facility doesn't feel as institutional as the several other places I looked at. I would recommend to others.

Brad and his team are very professional. His single room was very clean when he moved in. I would recommend them to others who are searching for memory care for their loved one.

Better Option

Good communication. Helpful with getting resources need to facilitate the transfer. I would recommend Brookdale South Park to others

Not recommended

My mother lived here for 1.5 yrs and we moved her out due to issues with staff. The main problem is the executive director,[Name Removed]. His management style is weak and ineffective. The staff seem to have no respect for him and it shows in the quality of care. Most caregivers are awesome (Names removed) but the last straw for us was finding a caregiver watching SpongeBob SquarePants on her iPad during dinner.
