Looked great during the tour, even better in real life

The staff is A++++ over all. Most have stayed even after the new mgt company came in. That says a lot. The food is good to very good. That is also saying a lot! Very clean, doesn't look or feel like an assisted living facility at all. Very homey. My mom is very happy and doing very well. Much better than before she moved from her enormous house almost a year ago. Only issues are minor things they are ironing out with the mgt transition... they lost free landline service so I've been scrambling to get my mom a phon…

Very charming place. Food is very good. Everyone friendly

It is a beautiful place with nice apartments and great food! Prices are pretty good. Not the highest or the lowest. Priced in between. I hope to send my loved one here pending the other decisions of other members of her care. I sure hope we get to take her there!

Avoid this Place

This place was horrible. My loved one was put on a high dosage of narcotics w/o my knowledge or consent. He was constantly in dirty clothes & his bedroom & bathroom were filthy. The management staff lied to me on many occasions. Couldn't wait to get him out of there.

Not equipped to provide hospice

The staff at Sunrise didn’t seem to know my sister was dying. Waits over 30 minutes after button was pushed for help multiple times, brought full meals after we ordered soft foods she could swallow. The AC in her room flooded and the carpet was damp during her entire stay. Intake was delayed a day because meds couldn’t be procured but weren’t there when she arrived or for another 24 hours. Multiple billing errors were made and I am still getting a bill to comply with the “30 day notice” even though we were told it …

Sunrise in Decatur is close to where I live which turned out to be a must. My dad’s Parkinson’s had advanced and we realized his condition was more than we could manage. The apartment we decided on is enough space for both my parents. The adjustment has been bumpy. The staff have listened to my mom’s concerns and questions. The food is really good but my dad’s puréed diet has been just ok. The ambiance of the facility is very nice. The staff have been attentive and helpful though they do seem understaffed some week…
