The Madeline of Decatur is a one-story memory care community surrounded by lively greenery and filled with a modern ambiance. The community welcomes seniors to a suburban area of Decatur, Georgia. The Madeline of Decatur offers specialized care for seniors with Alzheimer’s disease or other types of dementia. Personalized care plans are created to meet every resident's individual care needs while taking their likes and dislikes into account. These plans are fulfilled around the clock by licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants. Residents also have access to on-site medical care and home health care. In the rehabilitation room, seniors can benefit from wellness therapies like speech, occupational, and physical therapy. Residents reside throughout four neighborhoods and have access to amenities and activities. These neighborhoods provide familiarity for seniors with memory loss, as well as a safe environment with secured access. In each of these neighborhoods, residents can choose between semi-private and private bedroom options. When residents are not relaxing in their bedrooms, they can explore the secured and spacious courtyard. With natural light streaming in from the neighboring beautiful outdoor courtyard, the restaurant-style dining room enables seniors to enjoy chef-prepared meals. The staff is great with the residents. The philosophy and the layout of the Waterford is great for patients with memory issues. For the first time in several years, my father engaged with staff and other patients. They allowed him to roam freely and safely and he felt like he had some independence and control back in his life. He made friends and I feel like the last few months of his life were happy and fulfilled. As with any "facility" things aren't perfect there but the staff was very approachable and caring and…
